Join us for an in-conversation event with renowned textile collector Karun Thakar, in discussion with Avalon Fotheringham, Curator of the South Asian Textile Collection at the V&A

This event forms part of the public programme for Soul of the Cloth: The Karun Thakar Textile Collection, a new temporary exhibition at the DMU Museum celebrating a major recent donation to DMU Special Collections.

The conversation will explore Karun Thakar’s journey collecting textiles from around the world, offering unique insight into the stories, craftsmanship, and cultural significance behind each piece.

Avalon Fotheringham cares for part of the Karun Thakar Collection at the Victoria and Albert Museum, bringing a unique curatorial perspective to this conversation.

There will be an opportunity for audience questions.
