On Sunday, October 4, 2026, at 4 pm, Kurtis will visit the library to discuss his captivating new memoir, Whirlwind, chronicling his monumental 60-year career in journalism.
The event will feature "A Conversation with Bill Kurtis," a live interview format moderated by esteemed Chicago scholar and writer Bill Savage. Together, they will dive into the behind-the-scenes stories of Kurtis’s historic career—from breaking major national news to his work on celebrated documentary series—offering an intimate look at the changing landscape of American media.
Following the main discussion, Kurtis will take questions from the audience and participate in a book signing.
Registration opens on Wednesday, July 15.
