The first In Conversation series event of the year returns Tuesday, July 9 at 7 p.m. at the Austin Public Library - Central Location! Co-sponsored by The Library Foundation ATX & Texas Book Festival, In Conversation pairs writers for intimate, unmoderated discussions of their work.This event celebrates the release of May Cobb's latest novel, “The Hollywood Assistant”, and the forthcoming publication of “House of Bone and Rain” by Gabino Iglesias. The authors will sign books following the program. Books will be available for purchase thanks to @bookpeople.
ℹ️ About the Authors
May Cobb earned her MA in literature from San Francisco State University, and her essays and interviews have appeared in “The Washington Post”, the Rumpus, “Edible Austin”, and “Austin Monthly”. Her previous novels are “The Hunting Wives” and “My Summer Darlings”. A Texas native, she lives in Austin with her family. Her novel “The Hunting Wives” is soon to be a series on STARZ. In Cobb’s new thriller/suspense, Cassidy Foster finds herself in the crosshairs of a murder investigation.
Gabino Iglesias is the author of the Shirley Jackson and Bram Stoker award-winning novel, “The Devil Takes You Home”, as well as author of the critically acclaimed and award-winning novels “Zero Saints” and “Coyote Songs”. He is a writer, journalist, professor, and literary critic living in Austin, Texas. He is the horror columnist for the “New York Times Book Review”. In Iglesias’s new supernatural horror, a group of young men seek vengeance against a Puerto Rican drug kingpin.
