In Cahoots Celebrating 10 years of The Third Street Star Bridge

The Jefferson Project, a nonprofit organization, is the driving the never ending life behind the Star Bridge, often known as the Third Street or 3rd St Starbridge. This milestone allows us to spotlight The Jefferson Project and its placemaking efforts, with the Star Bridge being our most notable program. Initially a personal tribute when it started in 2016, the Star Bridge has blossomed into a key placemaking initiative under The Jefferson Project.
A significant number of people enjoy the Star Bridge without awareness that a local nonprofit is its backbone, providing support and maintenance. We would love to share more on July 15th on how it not only makes an impact on the downtown life but how we all make an impact to the project as well.
The original Third Street Star Bridge project encompassed more than just the overhead lighting. It featured string lights across Third Street and murals on Jake's and Zef's, all intended to transform the block into a destination and foster a sense of place distinctive to Bay City, Illuminating Love, Life and Art.
As we continue through the summer and beyond, we encourage the community to view the Star Bridge as a destination, rather than a single business location, whose success stems from the collective participation of various businesses that have leveraged its energy to enhance downtown Bay City, alongside the outstanding support of individuals who cherish the vibrant life that Third Street brings to the area.
Here is a video showing the many businesses that participated when the Star Bridge first debuted in 2016:
