About this Event
Feeling in need of a boost? Old strategies gone stale? Build confidence, reduce anxiety, and enhance interpersonal skills through the playful exploration of improv theater. Improv is an experience filled with fun interactive exercises and games in a supportive environment. You'll learn to be more accepting of yourself and others, embrace imperfections, explore new ways to communicate, manage stress, and experience the joy of creative expression. No prior improv experience needed – just bring a willingness to play and enjoy this unique and engaging path to personal growth.
This 8-week group is full of fun and learning. Each week builds upon the previous week and is filled with new content and activities.
Facilitator: Mary Blazier, MA in mental health counseling, enjoys working poeple with a variety of approaches to ensure that clients feel accepted, empowered, and supported to reach their goals. She works with a myriad of concerns including anxiety, depression, relationship issues, self-esteem, phase of life issues, and trauma. She is passionate about helping others work through issues of identity, belonging, and self acceptance. Mary believes that here-and-now experiences can teach us and heal us in ways that go beyond the experience itself. She understands that improv helps mental health by boosting confidence, decreasing social anxiety, and improving tolerance for uncertainty. It fosters a communal, supportive, and playful environment where participants can be authentic and connect with others.
