This dynamic, low pressure comedy improv workshop led by Erik Escobar is designed for seasoned improvisers, complete beginners curious about learning the fundamentals, performers looking to sharpen their public speaking skills, and anyone seeking more confidence in social situations.

With a focus on narrative structure, scene-building techniques, and practical tools for when a scene feels lost or stuck, participants will learn how to confidently initiate, sustain, and resolve any improvised moment. By the end of the workshop, students will walk away with a stronger sense of control, clarity, and confidence—knowing they can approach any scene with skill, intention, and playful execution.
Instructor Bio:
Erik Escobar holds a Masters of Fine Arts in Improvisation and Comedy and has been performing and teaching improvisation for over 20 years. He has coached and performed improv all over the country at Upright Citizens Brigade, ComedySportz, IO West, The Blue Door Theatre and more. He has taught improv and comedy at University of Portland, Goddard College, Whittier College, Portland State University and with organizations and companies including Deltek, the National Association of Women Lawyers, and The Unusual Suspects Theatre Company. He currently improvises with Improv City and The Improv Collective in California in addition to being a part of No MSG Added, Orange County’s only Asian American sketch team.
