Improv 401: The Harold (Wednesdays 7:00 PM - 9:00 PM)

In our fourth level, we'll approach Long Form from the 16-bar blues of improv, Harold.

Over eight weeks, this course will strengthen the broad skills you have (two-person scenes, group work, playing from emotion, pattern recognition), and put it all on its feet in a longer, cohesive piece.

Dates: The class runs Wednesdays from 01/14/2026 to 03/04/2026, starting 01/14/2026 and running for 8 weeks.

A showcase will be scheduled as an additional opportunity on an evening during the week of March 8.

Instructor: Jess Brooks

Jess Brooks first stepped foot in the Coalition Theater the same week she moved to Richmond and then never left. A lifelong lover of comedy and theater, Jess performs regularly as part of Coalition house team Silver Child and indie teams Hot Computer, Brooks Brothers and Dancer Dancer. She is thrilled to teach Improv 401 and share the magic of laughter, vulnerability and fun with Coalition students!

Prerequisites: Improv 101, 201, 301, or equivalent classes at a comparable institution. Email [email protected] with questions.

Cost: $250 (Early Bird: $220)

The Coalition Theater is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. Once classes begin, all sales are final. We understand that unforeseen circumstances may arise that prevent you from attending or completing your registered class. While we do our best to accommodate such situations, refunds are awarded only as credit for a future class or shows and are subject to the discretion of The Coalition Theater management. Requests for refunds will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis, and any decisions regarding refunds will be made at the discretion of the theater.
