ABOUT IMPROV 101:
Our most popular course and named "Best Intro to Improv Class" by Forbes, now even faster! This six-session course in the study of improv comedy is perfect for beginners.
Some of the skills the class covers include:
• Confidently use your own personality to create new ideas and never “go blank” again
• The "Four Pillars of Improv" to create the perfect scene
• Strengthen your sense of humor & comedic timing, while getting out of your shell
• Our "Six Starting Methods" to initiate both scenes and conversations
• Strengthen your voice, public speaking, & communication skills
• The core tenets of improv such as agreement, listening, and more
Each student will also receive curated resources including: videos, reading suggestions, recommended live shows in town, and optional out-of-class assignments to enhance your overall learning experience.
No prior improv or performing experience is necessary.
Class Size: 14 students; everyone will get plenty of stage time and individual attention.
Length: Sessions are 3 hours, and meet for 6 sessions in Los Angeles.
ABOUT IMPROV-LA:
Since 2010, Improv-LA has been the place for actors, non-actors, and improvisers to come together to learn and strengthen their skills for everyday life. We felt that there was no place in Los Angeles for someone to work on their personal skills and have a creative outlet, without paying thousands of dollars and working their way through a “factory.” Thus, Improv-LA is always very affordable and allows its student to explore and work out their creative muscles from the very first moment of class.
The courses are designed to make the student feel supportive, included, and confident onstage and off. We take the bare-essentials of all of our experience and training in improvisation, acting, and writing from traveling the world and designed a workshop that can be the most beneficial for everyone. Our goal isn't about competing with your fellow classmate, but having a supportive and safe space to learn from. We've taught thousands of students from all walks of life and all over the globe. Now it’s your turn.
