2-Day Weekend Workshop

In this workshop, students will create alla prima portrait paintings from life using traditional techniques over the course of 2 days. Emphasis will be placed on large mass drawing, value and color relationships, and accurate form-based color. Class discussions will include how to accurately judge values, handling of edges, color study and using simple and complex forms while working from life as well as anatomy and abstract facial structure. Darren will demo from the model in the morning each day and the students will work the remainder of the day with guided instruction.
