Impostor Syndrome affects most people. Even though it was coined more than 40 years ago, it still impacts us today, especially in Utah. Impostor Syndrome affects not only us as individuals, but as well as the organizations in which we work. Impostor Syndrome can thwart progress and stifle creativity. Understanding Impostor Syndrome and how we can manage it can embolden us to use our leadership abilities by addressing some of the areas that hold us back. In this presentation, we will define Impostor Syndrome, consider its harmful effects, reflect on how we have experienced Impostor Syndrome, explore the 5 Types of Impostor Syndrome, discuss tips for managing Impostor Syndrome in our lives, and set an action plan.
