As many of you are aware of, Impact had just recently become a supporter and affiliate of the We Defy Foundation. We Defy provides combat veterans coping with disabilities a long term means to overcome their challenges through Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and fitness training.Jiu Jitsu fosters a sense of community that is often missing in many veterans’ lives. We Defy tries to connect those veterans with like minded warriors to assist in rebuilding the sense of brotherhood or sisterhood that they have been missing.
As an affiliate, we are proud to host an upcoming We Defy event, Impact’s Veterans Day Ruck/Roll! The purpose of the event is to raise awareness of the challenges veterans face as they assimilate to citizen life and raise funds for the We Defy cause, to bring veterans into the Jiu Jitsu community.
On November 15th, Impact will offer a fun day of bonding, training, and learning during its Ruck/Roll event!
At 9 am, the event kicks off with a 60 minute Ruck as a warm up to the day’s events! Those looking to participate are welcome to bring their own Rucksack, weighted vest, or you can choose to just walk the path with the team. We will be walking around the outside of the building.
At 10 am, we will have three Team Vaghi Black Belts out of the Fox Cities, 3rd Degree Black Belt Bill Krieg, 1st Degree Belt Jesse Rueger, and the fresh, new Black Belt Charlie Brown presenting Half Guard Escapes.
At 11 am, we will be hosting a 2 hour Roll-A-Thon where participants will get A LOT of rolls.
Participants are welcome to be involved in as many of the day’s activities as they wish. Come help us raise funds and honor our veterans.
