Make and bring a dish to share (ethnic/cultural dishes are encouraged!) and join us for a potluck lunch followed by a panel discussion featuring area experts on immigration and refugee concerns. We'll hear from:- Rabbi Ester Hugenholtz from Agudas Achim Congregation in Coralville, IA. Rabbi Esther and her family immigrated to the United States in 2017.
- Erin Good from Lutheran Services in Iowa. As the Service Manager of Immigrant and Refugee services at LSI, Erin will discuss LSI's current services, as well as strategies to respond to ICE.
- Deb Dunkhase, Co-founder of Open Heartland in Iowa City, will speak to the chaos surrounding the landscape of immigration in the United States today.
This event is FREE and open to the public. We hope you will invite your friends and neighbors, and come with open hearts and open minds.
