Training Session Description:
A five-hour training session to introduce the layman to the basic aid which needs to be rendered to a gunshot victim in the home, hunting cabin, street, hunting or on the shooting range. We will also present a detailed plan for rendering aid to victims in hazardous or high threat situations. THIS IS NOT A GENERAL FIRST AID COURSE, and will be tailored to the specific traumatic injuries due to a gunshot wound sustained in these locations. Although a medical class, everyday language will be used and the participant will have the ability to ask as many questions as desired. Participants will be exposed to a PowerPoint presentation with lecture and will have hands on training in the use of each item in an IFAK for both self-applied lifesaving measures and as a "buddy aid" or victim lifesaving measures.
