About this Event
Workshop 1 of our Summer Program:
Imaginative Play
An Introduction into Myth Making, Shapeshifting & Ritual
As children we play to understand the world as it is. We play to imagine how it could be. We play to make meaning, to approach the grand questions, dramas and mysteries of life in our very own way, and to learn through imitation, repetition, and the wild flights of our imagination. It is our most natural way to create a deep soul connection with the worlds around and within.
This workshop invites you to explore different levels of imaginative play, each different in their intensity, purpose and poetic transposition of life, from imaginative re-play of everyday life to the playful embodiment of utopias.
We will work with multiple practices of embodiment to develop a deeper awareness for the purpose of play in the development of our creative independence, of our understanding of identity as fluid and our sense of purpose as a myth to be written and lived by ourselves.
