Imagination in Motion
About this Event
Imagination in Motion is a playful, all-ages creative experience designed to help imagination bloom through art, mindfulness, movement, and a little bit of mess. 🌼🎨
Our paid art + imagination workshops are hosted at a private residence in Rancho El Dorado, where we’ll gather for creative prompts, hands-on art projects, playful exercises, and themed adventures inspired by things like nature, woodland creatures, color, movement, and imagination.
When weather allows, we may also offer a separate, free community yoga + movement gathering at a nearby park before the art workshop begins. 🌿 This gentle, beginner-friendly offering is open to the community and gives us a chance to stretch, breathe, move our bodies, and get the creative juices flowing outdoors. Participation in the free park gathering does not require registration for the paid art class.
Those registered for the $25 art workshop can then join us at the nearby private studio for the creative portion of the experience, where we may draw, paint, explore imaginative prompts, create characters, play with different materials, and let curiosity lead the way. 🎨🍄🦋
Bring your kids, your partner, a friend, or come on your own! Families, couples, friends, and individuals are welcome to create and play side-by-side. 🌈
No art or yoga experience is needed. Everything is an invitation, with plenty of room to follow your curiosity, experiment, get a little messy, and make the experience your own.
Come move with us for free, stay curious, and if you’d like to keep creating, join us afterward for Imagination in Motion Art + Imagination Workshop. 🧘♀️🎨🌻
Agenda
🕑: 12:00 PM - 12:30 PM
Yoga and Movement
Host: Nyah Larson
Info: We’ll spend about 30 minutes getting the blood flowing and the creative juices moving with Nyah Larson, yoga teacher. Using gentle Hatha yoga, mindful movement, and Qigong-inspired practices, we’ll warm up the body, settle into the moment, and make a little more space for creativity before we begin our art.
Art and Imagination
Host: Brittany Lee
Info: For the rest of class, we’ll create alongside local art teacher Brittany Lee, starting with playful warm-ups designed to help us loosen up, experiment, and get comfortable making some wonderfully “bad” art without judging the outcome. ✨ Then Nyah Larson will guide an imagination prompt to help us stretch our artistic brains, explore new ideas, and practice creating from curiosity instead of perfection. We’ll use imagination, storytelling, and creative play to see what wants to come to life on the page.
There will also be coloring pages and other creative pieces you’re welcome to work on and take home with you. ️
