This award-winning play explores Deaf identity, culture, pride, and shame through the unique history of Deaf peddling.An old Deaf peddler warns his friend Brian to stay away, but Brian remains fascinated by the stories he shares. Tension rises when Harry sees Brian with the peddler and refuses to accept the old man as truly Deaf. Their confrontation reveals different perspectives on the complicated institution of Deaf peddling and the cultural labels that shape identity and belonging.
✨ This is a teaser reading of the play after receiving support and recognition through Dairy Arts Center sponsorship. The full production is planned for Spring 2027!
