About this Event

Please note: this event will be held in person at Rumpus Room and Glasgow Zine Library

Join illustrator Olivia Juett to create an imaginary garden, built up from collaboratively drawn flowers. The session will start in Rumpus Room’s garden (weather dependent!) where we will explore different forms, shapes and textures in the garden through drawing. You will get prompts and encouragement to explore the garden in your own way.

The second half of the session will be back at Glasgow Zine Library. We’ll look at the work created in the garden, and bring together elements of these drawings to create colourful, collaborative flowers. Gardens are inherently a collaboration between gardeners, seeds, soil and the elements. We will gather these flowers together and see how our garden is growing. This will be a relaxed, exploratory session that aims to imagine new ways of illustrating the natural world, and imagining how we can each contribute to this.

About Olivia:

I am an illustrator and printmaker based in Glasgow, mainly working with analogue processes. Much of my work draws attention to fleeting atmospheres and unexpected moments of reflection; driven by observation, I explore how different elements come together to create multi-layered stories.
