ΦΕΣΤΙΒΑΛ «ΕΙΚΟΝΕΣ ΚΑΙ ΟΨΕΙΣ ΤΟΥ ΕΝΑΛΛΑΚΤΙΚΟΥ ΚΙΝΗΜΑΤΟΓΡΑΦΟΥ» 2026

Το Φεστιβάλ «Εικόνες και Όψεις του Εναλλακτικού Κινηματογράφου», το καθιερωμένο συναπάντημα για όσους αγαπούν το ανήσυχο, πρωτοποριακό και εναλλακτικό σινεμά, επιστρέφει από τις 15 έως τις 21 Ιουνίου 2026 στην ατμοσφαιρική αυλή του Δημοτικού Μουσείου Χαρακτικής Χαμπή, στην παλιά Λευκωσία.
Μέσα στη δίνη ενός ολοένα και πιο χαοτικού κόσμου, όπου οι απατηλές εικόνες της Τεχνητής Νοημοσύνης πολλαπλασιάζονται και οι εφιάλτες του παρελθόντος επανεμφανίζονται απειλητικά, το φεστιβάλ μάς καλεί να αναζητήσουμε μέσα από τον κινηματογράφο νέους τρόπους θέασης, κατανόησης και αντίστασης.
Το φετινό πρόγραμμα περιλαμβάνει αφιερώματα στους Béla Tarr, David Cronenberg, Boris Barnet, Jeff Keen, Russ Meyer και Maryam Tafakory, καθώς και ένα ειδικό πρόγραμμα αφιερωμένο στο πρώιμο ευρωπαϊκό animation με έργα των Lotte Reiniger και Aleksandr Ptushko. Παράλληλα παρουσιάζεται το αφιέρωμα Embodied Films: Το Σωματικό Σινεμά της Αριάννας Οικονόμου.
Μια εβδομάδα προβολών, συζητήσεων και κινηματογραφικών ανακαλύψεων που εξερευνούν τις δυνατότητες και τα όρια της 7ης τέχνης, πέρα από τις συμβάσεις της αφήγησης και της παραδοσιακής κινηματογραφικής γλώσσας.
Ώρα έναρξης προβολών: 20:00
Όλες οι προβολές είναι για άτομα άνω των 18 ετών.
Το Φεστιβάλ αποτελεί πρωτοβουλία του Τμήματος Σύγχρονου Πολιτισμού του Υφυπουργείου Πολιτισμού, σε συνεργασία με τον μη κερδοσκοπικό οργανισμό Brave New Culture.

Images and Views of Alternative Cinema, Cyprus’ annual gathering for lovers of adventurous, innovative and alternative cinema, returns from 15 to 21 June 2026 to the atmospheric courtyard of the Hambis Municipal Museum of Printmaking in the heart of old Nicosia.
At a time when AI-generated illusions proliferate and the darker spectres of the past seem to be re-emerging, the festival invites audiences to rediscover cinema as a space for critical thought, artistic freedom and resistance to conformity.
This year's programme features tributes to Béla Tarr, David Cronenberg, Boris Barnet, Jeff Keen, Russ Meyer and Maryam Tafakory, alongside a special programme dedicated to early European animation with works by Lotte Reiniger and Aleksandr Ptushko. The festival also presents Embodied Films: The Physical Cinema of Arianna Economou.
Across seven days of screenings, introductions and discussions, audiences will encounter films that challenge conventions, expand the language of cinema and explore new ways of seeing and understanding the world.
Screenings begin daily at 8:00 PM.
All screenings are restricted to audiences aged 18 and over.
The festival is an initiative of the Department of Contemporary Culture of the Deputy Ministry of Culture, organised in collaboration with Brave New Culture.
