A quiet film about the Millennial Nightmare.
I’M A STRANGER HERE MYSELF is a portrait of Los Angeles. Over the course of a day we follow five stories. A single mother who steals packages. An aging influencer. A young couple. A pizza delivery man. Two people on a quiet street with iced drinks. In the end, none of the stories intersect. Everyone is lonely and California is beautiful.

I’M A STRANGER HERE MYSELF is Kevin Luna’s debut scripted feature (Five Minutes Before the End of the World, GIFF 2019, San Francisco B.C., Nobudge). Its ensemble cast includes Lindsey Normington (Anora), Bambina (Bloodbarn) and Adlet Volpi. With music from WEILS (Isak Sundstrom ex. Pascal & Jonas Teglund) and a unique and immersive sound design by Jonathan Dakers (A Poet, Egghead Republic, Forever).
This film is presented alongside short films by Peter Larsson and Salad Hilowle:
KEYHOLE CONVERSATION is artist and stop motion animator Peter Larsson’s latest film. Previously shown at Rotterdam and The New York Film Festival.
A very special, single screen, triptych presentation of MAROONEN, Salad Hilowle’s multi panel piece that is currently on display at the National Museum.
Filmmakers will be in attendance.
