Ilydan LARP August 2024 Event - Of Rites and Wrongs

Ilydan LARP is a small, adventure focussed fantasy LARP which puts you at the heart of the action. The island of Ilydan is now in its second year of settlement by newcomers from the Great Empire. In the Spring those settlers moved inland to find explore new lands, moving through forbidding swamps up to fertile higher ground. On that new land they met with Tyron settlers of the Fathomseeker and Tidewalker tribes who had the same idea. And so the settlement of Yondrmyr was founded, a shared territory of Tyrons and the settlers from the Great Empire.

Yondrmyr is a young settlement, and adventurers are needed to explore the lands, harvest resources and continue building civilisation in the wilds of Ilydan. What lurks in this high ground just beyond the marsh? And what of the Tyron neighbours who the Imperial settlers have chosen to live alongside? Finally, with the Emperor having insisted that his new lands start to provide him with revenue, how will the settlers respond to tax demands from their old home far across the seas.

This is the fourth LARP event by Ilydan LARP, and we're really looking forward to taking the story forward with crew and players old and new. You can read all about us and our system at www.ilydanlarp.org. Access to the site in North Somerset will open at 3pm on Friday 30th August and we will aim for time in by 7pm. There is some bunkhouse style accommodation available, and also a small kitchen on site to help crew and players with their catering. Camping is also available, whether in-character or out-of-character. We will aim for time out by 3pm on Sunday 1st September at the latest.

I f you are interested in LARP but have never taken part before why not come and join us as a crew member? We can provide costume, kit and LARP safe weapons for the weekend, and our crew are very friendly and inclusive. Full support and briefings are given for crew members, it's a great way to sample LARP and also find out how we do things at Ilydan. Our player group is also a good mix of new and experienced LARPers, with players of all ages. As a smaller and adventure focussed LARP new players are quickly involved with the action - when you're exploring uncharted territory every adventurer is needed to play their part!

Participation is at the discretion of the Ilydan LARP Design Team. We insist that there is respect for one another out of character. Ilydan LARP does not accept any form of sexism, racism, ableism, homophobia, transphobia or sexual harassment. Chosen pronouns are honoured both in and out of character, we want all players to know that they can participate in an environment that is inclusive and accepting.
If you want to take part any have any specific needs that would need to be catered for please contact us in advance so we can work this through in designing the event.
Age for participation
Age 12-15 can only take part if there is an adult on site responsible for them
Age 16-17 can take part with parental permission
Youth discount tickets are available for under 18s and those in full time education. Because we love impoverished students.
