The November 10th Illumination Wines Songwriter Showcase will feature the ultra popular Raymond Franklin and the insightful Paul Maxwell. Please join us for a great evening of original music.
About the Songwriters:
Raymond Franklin: His music blends soulful vocals, warm acoustic guitar, and heartfelt songwriting. He draws from influences across soul, folk, and groove-driven music. With nearly a decade of performing in the Rock Hill & Charlotte areas, He brings his own style and personality to every performance - whether playing an acoustic solo set, jamming with his bands, or providing live music at a wedding through Z Brothers Entertainment. His two bands: Sol Session and Steal & Timbre. Steal & Timbre’s debut album, Late Nights & Early Mornings, dropped earlier this year and is available on all streaming platforms. Sol Session is currently writing original material as well.
Paul Maxwell: Paul’s mother encouraged him to explore music and dance and he took lessons on organ, trumpet and guitar. As a teenager, he set those aside to become a bagpiper. He attended bagpipe camps, played in bands and competed at highland games throughout the US, Canada and Scotland. After college, he set his music aside while raising a family and pursued a career in metallurgy. He returned to guitar when his boys reached high school. Since retiring, he has been writing music and added the mandolin. Now he says he is a fully recovered bagpiper. His music is acoustic Americana; including folk, bluegrass and a hint of country. His lyrics reflect his love of nature, while expressing his position on social issues and providing a bit of humor.
PJ Brunson is a Rock Hill singer-songwriter with folk roots and an easy listening vibe. Her songs often center around the themes of life, love, and family. She performs full-time around the Carolinas and beyond. She also performs as half of the piano-violin duo “Ananda” with violinist Laurie Neal. The two perform original instrumentals they describe as Celtic-Classical-New Age fusion. PJ hosts the monthly songwriter showcase at Illumination Wines. For more info, visit https://pjbrunson.com.
