Presented by DevelopmentWA and delivered by independent non-profit arts and cultural organisation FORM, in partnership with ECU City, Illuminate Yagan Square will transform the centre of Perth into a living, breathing nocturnal landscape - an immersive experience that brings together performance, light and atmosphere in a wondrous after-dark spectacle.
Taking place over two incredible nights, the curated program features a collection of immersive light installations by WA artists, inspired by the theme โShaped by Lightโ.
At the centre of the event is PULSE - a sculptural installation featuring cascading strands of light that translate sound into motion - creating a breathtakingly illuminated canvas that reacts to a continuous performance of live music, dance and Japanese drums. The ambient experience allows audiences to engage and immerse themselves in an ever-evolving interplay of light, sound and movement. Functioning both as a standalone performance and as a responsive backdrop for artists, the full program loop can be experienced momentarily or in its entirety within an hour.
Visitors can explore a constellation of other light works across the Square created by WA artists and innovators. This includes larger than life illuminated lanterns, corridors of pulsating light and ethereal projections that bring the night to life.

Ballardong-born Whadjuk man Josh McGuire will open the event with a Welcome to Country and Smoking Ceremony, grounding the event in Noongar culture and connection to Country.
This traditional custom invites visitors to engage with the public art experience through cultural reverence and respect for Country.
