Who should take this class?
This class is for Illinois F.O.I.D. card holders and those who have not attended our concealed carry license classes.
Please join retired Homicide Investigator Gary L Carr as he takes you through how to react under a stressful self-defense situation. You will learn about the behaviors that create legal problems during and after a self-defense incident, as well as how to correctly engage with law enforcement. What you should say and what you should not to say to the 911 dispatcher or Law Enforcement right after a self-defense incident.
What We'll Discuss;
- Do you know your rights?
- The court system and how it really works.
- The legal use of force in the home as well as on the street.
- Castle Doctrine, Stand your Ground or Duty to Retreat?
- Protect Illinois Communities Act (pica) - The Illinois Assault Weapons Ban.
- Reasonable Suspicion v Probable Cause.
- Illinois Safe-T-Act - No Cash Bail
- How to interact with Law Enforcement during a Traffic Stop or Self-Defense Incident
- The current state of policing in America and how it may affect you and your family.
By attending this class, you will get a better understanding of how the criminal justice system really works and how a self-defense incident may impact you and your family both criminally and civilly.
