Ikebana for all levels
We offer this class monthly. At a student's first class they will be able to purchase some reusable tools (set of flower frogs, mulberry wood, and a text book) directly from the instructor. Students should bring a container (any shallow dish will do, such as a backing dish) and their own clippers. Flowers are included.
Motoko is the current headmistress of the Keika-Kazan School of Ikebana. Keika-Kazan is a relatively new school of Ikebana, founded in 1930 by her Grandmother Bunga Tanuma. 'Keika' means scenic flower arranging. With the use of branches and other plant materials, floral landscapes or natural settings (steep gorges, lake sides, waterfalls, flowing streams, seashores and so on) are created - sometimes even telling stories.
If the cost of this class is a barrier for you participating, please reach out to [email protected] to inquire about a reduced rate.
