PHOTOCAT26 is the second edition of an international advanced training school aimed at PhD students, postdoctoral researchers, and early-career scientists working in sustainability-related fields such as photochemistry and biocatalysis, both in academic and industrial contexts.
Building on the success of the inaugural edition held in Padova, Italy, which gathered over 200 participants and featured 15 lectures by world-renowned scientists, PHOTOCAT26 continues to promote interaction between academia and industry by strengthening a European network for advanced training in sustainable chemistry. This biennial and itinerant series takes place at venues associated with the Scientific Committee members, fostering a pan-European perspective on sustainability in chemical research.
This edition, PHOTOCAT26, will be hosted in Alicante, Spain, and will further help bridge the gap between academic research and industrial applications by training a new generation of researchers in green chemistry, utilizing sustainable resources such as sunlight and biocatalysts. The international scope and biennial format of the event will support the sustainable growth of the regional chemical ecosystem, with significant impact at national and European levels. Additionally, the European network established through these editions will encourage collaborative projects and facilitate mobility for young researchers involved.
