About this Event

Each year Ignite holds a special event in conjunction with Liverpool Makefest, this year the cosy conference is pondering The Age of Stupid.

1. We appear to be living in an Age of Stupid, where misinformation, distorted incentives and broken systems contribute to poor public understanding and bad collective decisions. But this is not simply a story about people becoming less intelligent. It is about the political, economic, media and technological systems that shape what we see and how decisions are made. At the same time, communities across the UK are quietly creating practical, cooperative alternatives.

This event is an opportunity to explore both what is broken and what people are already doing to fix things.

We have a series of 8 talks then a Q&A section, where the audience are invited to ask the speakers to expand on their ideas.
