IGI NI SÒRÒ — The Trees Are Speaking
About this Event
ÌGÍ NÍ SỌ̀RỌ̀ — The Trees Are Speaking
What happens when we stop to listen to the living world around us?
ÌGÍ NÍ SỌ̀RỌ̀ — The Trees Are Speaking is an outdoor arts and nature experience bringing together live music, movement, Capoeira Angola, African Diasporic performance, and the sounds of living plants.
Using PlantWave technology, the bioelectrical activity of plants is translated into sound, creating an opportunity for musicians and audiences to listen and respond to the natural world in a new way. Experience kora, percussion, berimbau, movement, song, and live plant sounds within the landscape of Mueller Lake Park.
Featuring Crianças de Capoeira Angola ATX, Baba Esudamilare, Ibrahim Aminou, Michael Longoria, Efunsewa, and Ara Èdè Performing Arts Collective.
Bring a blanket or lawn chair, settle into the park, and spend the afternoon listening, experiencing, and reconnecting with the living world around us.
All ages are welcome.
