Bantoo, an Indian wedding band trumpet player doesn't feel content with playing just the wedding music anymore. His life takes an unexpected turn when he comes across a street musician one day and becomes obsessed with the idea of finding his 'own music'. His obsession puts him in contrast to his bandmates who don't think of music as something 'passionate' and are grounded by their realities of sending home money every month to their families. Bantoo, who's young and relatively free of responsibilities navigates this pessimistic world of Indian wedding band with his new-found quest and in the process risks everything including his relationships and livelihood.Ustad Bantoo is a story about finding yourself. It's a story that challenges your definition of art and the accessibility of it in modern times through the perspective of a wedding band trumpet player.
