This workshop is intended to share with the building industry professionals the key changes prescribed in the recent Fire Code 2023 amendments.

10.15 – 11.15am Panel Discussion and Q & A on Key updates of the MFC 2023.

Speaker’s Profile

Ar. Chan Kok Way is an experienced practitioner with over four decades of experience in the Built Environment (BE) sector. He is the Founder and Director of SD Architects and Associates Pte Ltd. Throughout his career he has acquired professional expertise as a Fire Safety Engineer and Registered Inspector for fire safety inspections. He is the President of the Board of Architects a member of the Appeal Advisory Board SCDF a Member of IFE and a Council member of IFES.

Er. Yee Poh Kin is a Fellow Member of IFES current Vice President of IFES QP (M&E) RI (M&E) FSE IFE IFE representative in SCDF Fire Safety Standing Committee and Fire Code Review committee. Convenor of Working Group on Specification for fire shutters (SS 489: 2015) Members of the Working Group on Specification for Fire Damper (SS 333: 2012) and Code of practice for use and maintenance of portable fire extinguishers (SS 578: 2012)on for fire shutters (SS 489: 2015) Specification for Fire Damper (SS 333: 2012) and Code of practice for use and maintenance of portable fire extinguishers (SS 578: 2012)

Er. Ho Victor is a council member of IFES. He is also a Director of HiLT Pte Ltd a fire engineering consultancy practice. He has been actively involved in the fire safety consultancy for the past 30 years. He is a member author of the inaugural Singapore Fire Engineering Guidelines 2015 and also sits in the review committee of the Master Fire Code 2023. He recently completed his term in the review of SS 532 – Code of Practice for Flammable Storage and is currently working on the Code of Practice Fire Precaution for Road Tunnels and the adoption of UL9540A for the testing standard for thermal runway in battery systems. On the international front he sits on the technical committee of Underwriters Laboratories (UL) - Standard for Electrical Systems for eBikes TC2849 (Voting member) and Technical Committee for Energy Storage Systems and Equipment TC 9540 (non-voting).
