IFAC CAMSAT 2025

The upcoming IFAC Workshop on Control Aspects of Multi-Satellite Systems (CAMSAT) 2025 is hosted by the Julius-Maximilians-Universität Würzburg (JMU). The workshop takes place from 06. to 08. October in the Central Lecture Hall and Seminar building Z6 (Zentrales Hörsaal- und Seminargebäude) at the Hubland Süd campus. The program of CAMSAT2025 comprises paper presentations and a posters session.

"New Space" initiated for space technology a paradigm shift towards miniaturization of satellites and networks of satellites. This new framework raises challenging control and automation topics. While in constellations, each satellite is individually controlled from ground, more advanced formations are emerging, exchanging information via intersatellite links and self-organizing in orbit. Related sensing capabilities to characterize position and attitude status of the satellites are providing the inputs to networked control activities to coordinate the satellite team. The data generated by such sensor networks distributed over many satellites generate information by appropriate processing, e.g. filtering and fusion algorithms. The objective of this workshop emphasizes related innovative control approaches for multi-satellite systems, addressing by example topics in the field of:

• self-organizing formations
• networked control
• operations of (mega-)constellations
• collision avoidance
• rendezvous and docking
• fragmented spacecraft
• Space Situational Awareness

• space debris removal
• autonomous reaction capabilities
• advanced GNSS approaches
• pointing for inter-satellite links

• joint observations and sensor data fusion
• test facilities for multi-satellite systems
