If Stone Could Speak - Creative Writing Workshop!
About this Event
Come and join an inclusive creative writing workshop exploring the world of Adam Christie, an artist and sculptor from Shetland who lived most of his life in the Montrose Sunnyside Hospital and carved a fascinating collection of stone heads, some of which are housed in the museum. Engage with Adam’s story and express your own creative voice. If stone could speak what would it say?
You do not need any experience of creative writing or any knowledge about Adam Christie, this will be a fun and accessible workshop.
All you need is something to write with and a willingness to give it a go!
Date: Thursday 29 October 2026
Time: 10.30 - 13.00 (2.5 hrs including break)
Location: Montrose Museum
Cost: Suggested donation £5
The workshop will be led by playwright and creative writing tutor Matthew Knights. This is a project of Knights Theatre supported by Creative Scotland and Angus Alive.
There will also be a work in progress reading of a new play If Stone Could Speak on Friday 6 November at Montrose Museum. For more details see www.knightstheatre.co.uk
