IE EXPERIENCE DAY: Masterclass on Family Offices - The Industry Everyone's talking about and Few Understand

About This Event

Family offices have become one of the fastest-growing structures in global wealth management, yet most professionals, entrepreneurs, and even seasoned investors still have only a surface-level understanding of how they actually operate. This session cuts through the noise.

This is part of IE Experience Day in Jakarta, bringing IE University's academic rigor directly to Indonesia's business community.

What You'll Learn

Join Prof. Stefano Orioli from the IE Center for Families in Business for a practical, no-fluff masterclass on what family offices really are, how they're structured, and why they've become central to how business-owning families manage wealth, succession, and long-term legacy across generations.

Drawing on his experience advising family businesses and wealth structures across Europe, Latin America, and Asia, Prof. Orioli will unpack:

•

• What a family office actually does, and where the common misconceptions come from

• Why family offices are growing so fast, and what's driving demand in Asia specifically

• The strategic and succession challenges business-owning families face when formalizing wealth management

• Practical considerations for anyone advising, working with, or building a career around family offices

Who Should Attend

This session is for founders, advisors, finance professionals, and anyone curious about where private wealth is headed. It's equally valuable if you're simply exploring IE and want a better sense of the community, regardless of which program you're considering. IE alumni will also be on hand to share their own experiences, offering a firsthand look at life during and after an IE education.
