Idaho Songs
Award-winning soprano, Jordan Bowman, joins Gemma Arts and the Idaho State Museum in presenting a truly wistful and energetic recital of three artsong cycles for voice, piano, fiddle, and cello! The program will feature her beloved Idaho Songs by Nathan Scalise, along with Scalise's Coal Country Ballads, and the PREMIERE of Absurd Songs II by Idaho-raised composer Brian Hosefros. Each of these cycles showcase a variety of vocal and piano techniques that challenge the classical realm of sound, while sharing whimsical songs and American stories. Also featuring Chad Spears on piano, Jessica Joy Harned on fiddle, and Micah Claffey on cello!
This series is generously supported by a City of Boise Arts and History: America 250 Grant and will showcase the Historic Tree Fiddle and the 1878 Weber Grand Piano (both part of the Idaho State Historical Society's permanent collection
