The Artist
Kumu Hula and musical artist Kawika Keikialiʻi Alfiche has released four CDs since 2005, along with two singles, and a fifth CD is on the way. A songwriter and composer, Kawika also arranges his own music. Audiences can expect to hear both traditional Hawaiian music and contemporary sounds, including recently written original songs. He tours internationally, sharing his music and hula with communities around the world.

The Group
Hālau o Keikialiʻi (HK) is a traditional hālau hula, or hula school, founded in 1994 with a mission to educate communities through Hawaiian music, dance, chant, language, storytelling, arts, crafts, and more. HK has schools in San Francisco, Sacramento, Mexico, and Japan, and travels internationally to perform and teach classes and workshops in many aspects of Hawaiian culture. The group is led by Kumu Kawika Keikialiʻi Alfiche, a Kumu Hula who completed the traditional graduation process (ʻUniki) with his Kumu, Rae Kahikilaulani Fonseca, who in turn completed ʻUniki with George Lanakilakeikiahialiʻi Naʻope, both of Hilo, Hawaiʻi. HK has also released four DVDs featuring hula dramas, which will be available at the concert. One notable tour brought the group to New York, where HK received recognition in The New York Times.
