The ICS Method (Integrative Cranio-Soma) introduces a precise, gentle, and deeply effective way to diagnose and treat the body through five layers — muscles, bones,, dura mater, cerebrospinal fluid, and brain tissue.
ICS looks at the interconnections between the different systems of the body — musculoskeletal, visceral, hormonal, and nervous — with one central goal:
To understand where the problem is really coming from, rather than simply treating where the patient feels pain.
🧠 Why Focus on the Neck?
Neck pain is one of the most common complaints we encounter in the clinic.
But the source of neck pain is not always in the neck itself.
The neck is deeply connected to other areas and systems of the body. Sometimes what appears to be a local neck problem may actually be influenced by dysfunction elsewhere.
Learning to recognize these relationships can completely change the way we approach treatment.
The neck is also an excellent area through which to develop the sensitivity, precision, and clinical reasoning that form the foundation of ICS work.
🎯 The Main Focus: Clinical Diagnosis
At ICS, we believe that accurate diagnosis is the foundation of effective treatment.
For this reason, the main focus of this workshop will be diagnosis and clinical reasoning.
Our goal is not simply to teach you a few new techniques.
We want you to leave the workshop as a more precise, confident, and clinically skilled therapist.
You will learn how to assess the neck systematically and begin to distinguish between different possible sources of dysfunction.
We will explore questions such as:
- Is the problem actually coming from the neck?
- Is it primarily muscular, articular, fascial, or dural?
- Could the neck be compensating for dysfunction somewhere
else in the body?
- How can anatomical relationships help us identify the true -
source of the patient's symptoms?
- When should we treat the neck — and when should we look
somewhere else?
One of the central skills you will begin developing is the ability to recognize when neck pain may originate from another area of the body, rather than automatically treating the place where the patient feels pain.
We don't only want to teach you how to treat the neck.
We want to teach you how to understand why the neck hurts.
🤲 Practical Treatment Tools
Although diagnosis will be at the heart of the workshop, you will also leave with practical tools that you can begin using immediately in your clinic.
You will learn hands-on approaches for assessing and treating:
- The upper cervical region
- C1–C2 vertebrae
- The suboccipital muscles
- Dural relationships
- Connections between the neck and other areas of the body,
including L4–L5
The aim is to help you connect anatomy, diagnosis, and treatment, so that your choice of technique is guided by what you find in your assessment.
The Workshop Includes:

Learn the ICS diagnostic model and understand how anatomical connections can reveal hidden causes of pain and dysfunction.
2️⃣ Diagnosis & Hands-On Practice
Practice assessing the neck and differentiating between different possible sources of dysfunction, followed by practical treatment techniques you can use in your clinic.

👨‍⚕️ About the Instructor - Itzhak Dery
Itzhak is an experienced osteopath with over 10 years of clinical experience in Osteopathy and Craniosacral Therapy.
His approach is rooted in finding the core and origin of the problem rather than simply treating symptoms.
Before studying osteopathy, Itzhak trained in the Rosen Method and massage therapy, which deepened his understanding of the body's subtle expressions and the relationship between physical and emotional patterns.
