Greg, bba '84, h'99, and Ronda, b ed '84, Brenneman have long been passionate, stalwart supporters of Washburn. Over the past 40 years, the Brennemans have brought to life a number of initiatives that are deeply meaningful to the Washburn community.
The Brenneman Leadership series, a signature leadership course which has been completed by 80 Brenneman Fellows annually over the past seven years, guides participants through a seven-week program in leadership and philanthropy, based on the career and life lessons laid out in Greg's book "Right Away and All at Once: Five Steps to Transform Your Business and Enrich Your Life". The Brennemans provide the curriculum and annual funding for this innovative and impactful leadership course, which includes writing a life plan, preparing a budget and planning for retirement, evaluating charities in the Washburn and Topeka communities, and expending gifting funds provided by the Brennemans.
In 1996, they established the Brenneman Scholarship, which became the Greg and Ronda Brenneman Professorship in Business Strategy in 2001. This Endowed Professorship lends tremendous credibility to the School of Business, and has helped attract and retain world-class faculty.
The Brennemans were lead donors to the new president's residence, The Ross House, which was officially unveiled in August 2024 and has become a treasured location for hosting alumni, donors, and friends. Beyond their charitable giving, Greg's multi-decade service on the Washburn Foundation board of trustees demonstrates his deep commitment to Washburn's continued success. Greg and Ronda have regularly recognized the role Washburn has played in their lives, including at Greg's induction into the Kansas Business Hall of Fame and during their lifetime of awards and honors. The impact of Greg and Ronda can be felt in every corner of Washburn's campus and through the lives of countless students whose lives were touched by their generosity.
Greg holds a B.B.A. in Accounting/Finance, summa cum laude, from Washburn University and an M.B.A. with distinction from Harvard Business School. He was awarded an honorary Doctor of Commerce degree from Washburn University. Greg currently serves as the Chairman of CCMP and is a member of the Firm's Investment Committee. He has previously served as Chairman, CEO, or President for Continental Airlines, Burger King, PwC Consulting and Quiznos. He is also the founder of Turnworks, Inc., his personal investment firm that focuses on corporate turnarounds.
Greg and Ronda met while attending Washburn and married shortly after graduation. They currently reside in Spring, Texas. They have three children.
