WHERE: Four-corner intersection of SR44 and Mission Dr/Wallace Rd
PARKING: There are several areas for parking for easy access to the intersection: the lot adjacent to Wawa fills up quickly. Parking is also available at Chipotles, the old Kmart side lot, Walgreen/Denny’s, Publix and Winn Dixie.
PEACEFUL DEMONSTRATION: Remember to always remain peaceful. This is a MUST! Do not engage in back-and-forth comments with passersby … even if they throw food and plastic water bottles at you. Walk away or turn your back on these instigators and give a nice big wave to those riding by with the middle finger salute. We know it can be hard not to answer back … but, really … bullies love interaction, don’t give them what they want.
OTHER RULES:
• Stay out of the road
• Stand back from the curb
• Do not stand in the medians
• Do not jaywalk. Cross streets at the crosswalks when you have the “walk” symbol
• Do not jump out in the street or stand on the curb to take a picture
• Do not get close to traffic
• Pay attention to pedestrians using the sidewalks and give them room to walk by
• Keep 25 feet from driveways and entries into businesses so motorists can see oncoming traffic
• Use common sense.
WHAT TO BRING: Signs, flags, water, chairs, non-perishable donations and friends!
DONATIONS: If you can, we will be collecting non-perishable food items for HUM (Halifax Urban Ministries). They have a building on US 1 in NSB and distribute food and other items to many of our local church food pantries. We appreciate all donations!
