Formed in 2015, Ice Howl quickly became a prominent name in the Doom Metal community. Over the course of eight years and three albums and shifting more into an US Power Metal direction, Jason Roach has assembled a formidable lineup. During a 2022 interview on The Metal Forge with Mark Jackson, Jackson expressed interest in joining the band, stating, "If you ever need a bass player, I am interested." A throwaway line and a Facebook post later led to the first practice session of the new Ice Howl lineup in May 2023.
Ice Howl has been blessed to share the stage with notable bands such as Sanhedrin, Unto Others, Mares of Thrace, Tribunal, and the legendary Satan. They have also dominated the stage at festivals like Legions of Metal at the renowned Reggie's Concert Club in Chicago and Asheville Doomed & Stoned Chapter II at the Sly Grog in Asheville, NC.
With the release of their latest collaborative effort, "The Ledger of Timeless Watchers", the band felt a compelling need for change, prompting them to expand their horizons and embark on a tour to bring the metal to the masses. Thus, "Music of the Maiar" was born.
Maiar: A class of beings from the Middle-earth legendarium, known as the "Lesser Ainur," brought into existence at the dawn of creation by Eru Ilúvatar.

Joining us on this journey are our esteemed colleagues, Perennial Quest, with whom we performed in Chicago in 2024 at the Legions of Metal VI. Recently, there has been notable discussion within the independent metal community regarding Zebah Latifi assuming vocal duties for Perennial Quest.
The combining of forces can only be described as a meeting of the Maiar. A cosmic clash of the eternal debate: fast shreds or groovy rides? Por qué no los dos? European Power Metal high flying riffs of scrambling insanity will meet with the US Power Metal tour de force that is bone crushing riffs to send you dancing to your grave.
