Discover the magic of ICE DYEING! These make wonderful, unique wearable art to gift or keep!Experience the magical process of Ice-dyeing! The process takes two days.
DAY 1 – Introduction to various techniques for ice-dyeing. Choose your color/s. Soak the items in the prep solution for 15 minutes. Set up the tub and rack, Squeeze the prepped fabrics gently. Arrange on the rack. Cover with ICE. Lightly sprinkle ice with reactive dye. Cover for 24 hours.
DAY 2- Remove the dyed fabrics and rinse thoroughly. Dry. Iron. Consider embellishments.

We will use special finely powdered dyes that split to create fabulous multi-colored patterns, only revealed after your scarf and article of clothing is rinsed.
You will ice-dye one silk scarf, 11″ x 60″, provided. Please bring a washed T-shirt, piece of clothing, or cotton fabric for quilting to place for dyeing at the bottom of the tub.
As an extra-precaution we are providing for your protection, safety goggles and an N-95 dust mask as these dyes are very fine particles.
Please bring a pair of heavy “rubber” , vinyl or nitrile gloves in your size to wear while working with the dye prep Soda Ash solution. You may wish to bring an apron and wear old clothes. On Day 2, bring an old towel to roll up your scarf for faster drying time.
The instructor will provide all the other supplies needed
