Over 60 years ago, Florence Rappaport, in an attempt to cheer up her kids during another snowstorm in a long, cold winter, served her kids ice cream for breakfast creating a tradtion that spread globally as a fun, whimsical event. It's celebrated every year on the first Saturday in February.
