Spend a Sunday evening surrounded by candlelight and the sound of voices singing together in one of Santa Cruz’s historic churches.
I Cantori di Carmel opens its 45th Anniversary Season with Songs After Sunset, an a cappella program that puts the human voice at the center of the evening. Without orchestra or instruments, the music moves from the rich Romantic harmonies of Brahms, Bruckner, Reger, Rheinberger, and Hugo Wolf to the very different sound worlds of Barber, Messiaen, and Arvo Pärt.
The program also features the world premiere of Carmel Point by composer Christopher Anderson-Bazzoli, commissioned by I Cantori for its 45th Anniversary Season and inspired by the poetry of Robinson Jeffers, one of the great poetic voices of the Central Coast.

Arvo Pärt • Olivier Messiaen • Anton Bruckner • Max Reger • Josef Rheinberger • Johannes Brahms • Hugo Wolf • Samuel Barber • Christopher Anderson-Bazzoli
