Wednesday, Sept. 23 | Lookout’s Santa Cruz mayoral election forum
Join Lookout Santa Cruz on Wednesday, Sept. 23, from 6 to 8 p.m. at The 418 Project for a lively and informative forum featuring the two candidates competing to become Santa Cruz’s next mayor: Ryan Coonerty and Ami Chen Mills.
The November election will determine who leads Santa Cruz for the next four years. Moderated by Lookout’s Community Voices opinion editor, Jody K. Biehl, the forum will give voters a chance to hear directly from both candidates about their priorities, experience and vision for the city – and how they would approach the challenges and opportunities facing Santa Cruz.
The race for mayor is a citywide, four-year seat. Voters will choose between:
- Ryan Coonerty
- Ami Chen Mills

Doors open at 6 p.m. for check-in, with the forum beginning promptly at 6:30 p.m. Light refreshments will be provided.
This event is free and open to the public, but space is limited, so registration is required.
