People's Bookshop is delighted to welcome the internationally acclaimed Palestinian novelist, Ibtisam Azem, back into the shop
Long-listed for the International Booker Prize for her novel, The Book of Disappearance, Ibtisam will be discussing her newly translated first novel, The Sleep Thief.
Deeply rooted in the Palestinian people's century-long experience of displacement, occupation, and attempts to erase them from historic Palestine, Ibtisam Azem has crafted a defiant and powerful statement of resistance. As the genocide in Gaza continues despite the so called cease fire, it is a story that needs to be heard now, more than ever.
Doors open at 6:30 and the discussion begins at 7pm. Tickets are £5 for entry alone or £15 which includes a copy of the book. Refreshments are provided as part of the ticket.
