Mitigation Strategies to Protect Food Against Intentional Adulteration Rule (21 CFR 121) is the newest part of Food Safety Modernization Act. The rule requires businesses that hold, pack, process or manufacture food to conduct vulnerability assessment to identify significant vulnerabilities. Significant vulnerabilities become actionable process steps for which the business must identify mitigation strategies along with management components. All these activities must be conducted by Food Defense Qualified Individual / Individuals.
