The IASSRT 2026 Symposium titled Textiles as Knowledge Systems: Practice, Codification and Transfer, invites scholars, researchers and practitioners to explore textiles not merely as commodities for exchange, but as primary vectors of knowledge shaped through the dynamic processes of making, using, recording and transmission.

Held at the Max-Planck-Institut für Wissenschaftsgeschichte in Berlin on September 17 and 18, 2026, this symposium examines how textile knowledge was enacted, codified, transformed, and transferred across Eurasian networks.
