Saxophonist Ian Hendrickson-Smith (Uncle Cheef himself) brings a powerhouse band of NYC’s top shelf musicians to entertain you with high energy, fun and exciting soul jazz that will simultaneously make you wanna wiggle and challenge your intellect. Ian is a six time grammy award winner and currently plays saxophone on the Tonight Show with the Roots. He’s recorded/toured with: Amy Winehouse, Al Green, Sharon Jones and the Dap-Kings, Dr Lonnie Smith, Lady Gaga, Mark Ronson, and many more. Ian will be making his famous gumbo for this evening’s festivities! This evening will feature special guest trumpet master Dave Guy (The Roots / The Dap-Kings / El Michels Affair / The Budos Band / Amy Winehouse, etc). Ian and Dave’s history goes back 25 years and over 6,000 shows together starting from when Dave was just 18 years old. Most recently they’ve spent the last 10 years working together on the Tonight Show starring Jimmy Fallon as part of the Legendary Roots Crew.
