Come along and try Iaido, a Japanese Martial Art focused on using the Japanese Katana. We study solo and partnered kata (set forms) using a mixture of katana and bokken (wooden swords), with a lineage that stretches directly back to feudal Japan.
If you have an interest in Samurai or Japanese culture, or even just exercising and meeting new people in a dynamic and interesting environment,
this might be for you!
Our introductory course will allow you to get a feel for the art and the use of the katana from experienced practitioners. You will
learn some of the basic kata and receive one-on-one teaching from our senior members. We will supply all the equipment you need for the course
so all you need to bring is loose-fitting clothes and an open mind!
The course cost is £35 per person, which covers 6 two-hour sessions. We train on Tuesday and Thursday nights from 18:45 to 21:00.
Unfortunately we cannot currently accept members who are under 16.
