I Scream Social is celebrating the holidays and the final I Scream Social of the year with an incredible fiction lineup featuring Szilvia Molnar, J Evan Parks, and Winona León! Festive attire and jolly moods welcome!

Presented by Host Publications, I Scream Social is a monthly feminist reading series and ice cream party that takes place at Alienated Majesty Books. We aim to celebrate and empower historically marginalized writers and share incredible literature and diverse perspectives to an Austin-area audience. Szilvia Molnar is the author of the novel The Nursery, a New York Times Notable Book, which is forthcoming in eleven countries. She works as a foreign rights director for a New York-based literary agency. Szilvia was born in Budapest, raised in Sweden and now resides in Austin, Texas.

J Evan Parks (he/him/his) is a writer and creative currently living in Austin, TX, where he works as the Executive Director of the Writers’ League of Texas. He is a board member of the Austin-Oita Sister Cities Committee. He is the designer of Ritual Deck TTRPG published by Plus One EXP, and has published several mysteries for Public Access TTRPG.

Originally from Far West Texas, Winona León is a writer and artist currently residing in Austin. Her work has appeared in the Kenyon Review, Catapult, Volume 1 Brooklyn, and Joyland. She holds an MFA in fiction from the University of Wyoming and currently serves as an assistant editor at American Short Fiction.
