Presented by Host Publications, I Scream Social is a monthly feminist reading series and ice cream party that takes place at Alienated Majesty Books. We aim to celebrate and empower historically marginalized writers and share incredible literature and diverse perspectives to an Austin-area audience.
In October, we are featuring Dalia Azim, Fernando A. Flores, and Leticia Urieta!
This event is our Halloween edition! Costumes are encouraged and prizes will be awarded!

Dalia Azim is the author of the novel Country of Origin, which was published in 2022. Her writing has appeared in The Washington Post, The New York Times, American Short Fiction, and Aperture, among other places. She is the COO of the Texas Book Festival, which will take place November 16–17 in downtown Austin.
Leticia is a Tejana writer from Austin, TX. Leticia writes across genres including poetry and speculative and horror fiction. She is also a community teaching artist and the Executive Director of Austin Bat Cave, a local creative writing nonprofit.
Fernando A. Flores is the author of two novels and two short story collections. His forthcoming book Brother Brontë is out in February.

The open mic is reserved for writers from historically marginalized communities.
Because slots are limited and we want to make room for everyone, we ask that you wait until 7:10 to sign up if you joined us for the open mic the previous month.
