I Am... Loved: A Free Self-Love Workshop for Kids & Parents
About this Event
Does your child say "I'm not good at anything"? Compare themselves to everyone else? Melt down or quit the second something goes wrong? You're not alone, and you don't have to figure out what to say on your own.
I Am... Loved is a free, one-hour workshop for parents and children, hosted by author Marquisha Williams at MAAT Gathering Place of Healing. Together you'll learn simple words and daily habits that help kids believe in who they are, and you'll practice them side by side.
What you'll do together:
A calm-down breathing circle for parents and kids
A short parent talk: what quietly chips away at a child's self-worth, and what to say instead
"My Name, My Power" group activity: your child colors the affirmation for the first letter of their name while you write them a love note
An affirmation circle where every child stands tall and declares "I am ___!"
A simple 7-day bedtime affirmation routine to take home
Every child goes home with their own affirmation coloring book: I Am... From A to Z for girls, or I Am... From A to Z for Boys. Please register one ticket per child so we have a book ready for each of them. A parent or guardian stays for the full hour.
This is the first in a quarterly series of free family workshops at MAAT. Space is limited, so grab your spot now.
